Snickers takes credit for Mark Zuckerberg's success.

(click ad, via) Another Cannes 2011 winner that really isn't very good! The ad, by CLM BBDO France, just won an Outdoor Bronze Lion. I mean, the layout's kinda nice. But the idea—Mark, do you even eat Snickers? Talk to your lawyers, maybe you want to own Mars, Inc. I know, it's "creative license." Well the agency's license should be taken away. By the way, this is still by far the best Snickers ad I've ever seen.

The layout is nice? You got to be kidding. There was no need, if you ask me, to repeat "a nerd" a gazillion times just to make the point that before eating Snickers he was a nerd and after, the youngest billionaire. And this won Bronze.. Wow.

ps: What's with Blogger's word verification crap? You enter the characters correctly, and you are told they didn't match the word. This has been going on for a while..

The Stevie Wonder one is particularly ridiculous.

They should have done one for Naomi Campbell.

Rip: Well, if you don't actually read it, and look at it from a distance, it's kinda nice.

@Ranter

This could have been a great minimalist ad if we had a single "nerd" line. Just my 2 cents.

I'm trying to figure out if there's some kind of programming in-joke that I'm missing here.

The concept seems really half-baked... how this won an award is beyond me.

I think it's a little ballzy for Snickers to insinuate anything to do about Zuckerberg, but to take action on something this pointless would be a waste of time for the "world's youngest billionaire."
