Look at how handsome Hitler looks in this Cannes Lion-winning ad!

(click ad, via) Look at that gorgeous Devil! It appears that the Vogue retouchers got a hold of Der Führer's well-preserved corpse. Anyway this ad for audiobook India just won a Siver Lion at the annual autoerotic ad event by the sea. That's a bookmark sticking out of his mouth. It looks like he's eating a lizard.
Ad agency: Taproot, Mumbai.
Previously, here's nine more recent instances of Hitler-tising. Hitler still moves product, baby!

Well, we - those who find this ad discombobulating - are waiting for you Ranter to demystify it for us. You don't want to?

Well, I just figured it out. Audiobook = mouth. Bookmarks usually stick out of books. In this case, we have an audiomark, sticking out of an "audiobook". What a stupid ad!

He's got a bookmark in his mouth...so he's representing an audiobook about himself (maybe Mein Kampf?). Alright, it doesn't really make sense, but look at how good Adolf looks!

Yep, it's the "Mein Kampf" audiobook with a bookmark in Hitler's mouth since he at the moment shuts up.
I got to say that it's a pretty clever (or stupid? sometimes I can't really say) concept, although maybe not executed in great taste.

I looked at that ad and didn't get it. Then I said, 'I really hope that's not supposed to be a bookmark'. Hmmph..maybe I should be entering more of my work.

Hitler's Mein Kampf has been a popular seller in India. Apparently, for some strange reason, many businesspeople in India view it as a sort of self-help guide.

When you look at the way Indian corporations act, it's really no wonder that Hitler has become an icon, and to a degree that an ad like this is not just acceptable but prize worthy. Given the way the Sarkozy regime is behaving toward the Romany of late I'm also not surprised the award came from France. Rather than amusing I would say this is highly disturbing reflection of contemporary issues.

Why the satin ribbon bookmark, it's NOT a Bible?

OR IS IT?

Today Christians ... stand at the head of [this country] ... I pledge that I never will tie myself to parties who want to destroy Christianity ... We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit ... We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press - in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past ...
