Kill Bill billboard a bloody mess.

Those Kiwis are a bloodthirsty bunch when it comes to advertising gory American movies. This Kill Bill, Vol.1, uh, installation was apparently erected near a busy Auckland intersection to promote a local channel's screening of the movie. I'm assuming those are prop cars. Heard Chuck Porter speak once and he talked about buying space that people didn't even know was for sale. Seems here, you'd need to pay someone for use of the building wall, the sidewalk three parking spots and three cars...

I kinda like it, too; though I would have stopped with the wall splatter. It's "overkill."

That pictured looks like a comp. I'm skeptical that it was actually made.

Maybe. Source said is was placed at a "busy Auckland intersection" or something. They could be big fat liars. I ain't being paid to be a journalist.

Remarkably similar the Itchy and Scratchy: The Movie billboard from the Simpsons. I guess great minds think alike.

I live in Auckland. This is not real

No way would you get permission to but the red "paint" on a public highway

Probably a mag ad

That building is owned by the channel advertising the movie, so the building is theirs and the cars probably are too.

I haven't seen it myself, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was real.

Too much blood, no way! Kill Bill is all about the the ridiculous amount of bloodshed. It looks pretty legit to me too.

Yeah, you're right too, I saw it on Nelson St when they were installing it and it looked really impressive.

Saatchi & Saatchi are so full of shit. I believe this got produced, but Saatchi paid for it themselves.

Actually, TVNZ paid for most of. Obviously you've got a bit of an axe to grind, but get your facts right buddy

This is like the battle of the anonymouses . . . kind of hard to take any of them seriously. Are you kids in creative departments? Use some.

Wow,
I know this is old but I just ran across it. I remember hearing about it when it happened because there were some people upset it was too much really and I wondered, how bad could it be? I had no idea. I actually work at TVNZ but I was on holiday then.

Can't you see that the picture is badly photoshopped?

Comon' you're supposed to be educated about things like that, man.

100% WRONG. I got confirmation this was real by many people who drove by it, took pics.

Yeah, I actually work in this building now, TVNZ's "creative hub" and I've gotten confirmation from people there about it. Like I said before, I was actually on holiday at the time it took place so I didn't personally witness it but it definitely happened. It was somewhat controversial as well, so it made for a memorable promotion.
